Board Members

Steve Dervenis, Chairman

Steve has held a number of senior leadership positions in the financial services and financial technology industries at a variety of Wall Street firms and cutting edge, technology-oriented financial companies. Steve’s leadership as CEO of E*TRADE Global Asset Management brought about a period of unprecedented growth and record earnings for the organization.

Steve’s experience encompasses a variety of disciplines including emerging asset investment and executive management of high-growth businesses and products. He has led the mortgage and asset-backed structuring, trading, and investment banking businesses of Wall Street firms such as Lehman Brothers, JPMorgan and Barclays Capital. Steve also co-founded Carillon Capital, a boutique investment advisory firm and merchant bank that has completed over $2.2 billion in transactions across various asset classes.

Steve holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Tom Scott, Managing Partner, Triton Pacific Capital Partners, LLC

Tom possesses a unique combination of skills in investment selection, financing and oversight, transaction structuring and negotiation, and business strategy and transformation. He is a respected leader, with additional strengths in management mentoring and team building.

Tom is currently a Managing Partner at Triton Pacific Capital Partners, LLC, where he leads the specialty finance investment activities, among other responsibilities.

Investments under his management include:

  • Liberty Holdings, which purchases non-performing consumer debt, with a unique litigation-focused collections strategy
  • Javlin Capital, which funds and acquires service-intensive financial assets, with a focus on healthcare receivables (including personal injury and workers’ comp claims), student loans, real estate, non-performing consumer loans, and litigation finance
  • Blue Bridge Financial, a specialty financing provider for small and medium-sized businesses

Prior to joining Triton Pacific, Tom was a Principal at TAG Venture Partners, a Boston-based merchant banking and advisory firm, where he was involved in more than twenty transactions across a broad range of industries. Earlier, he was a management consultant for Harbor Research, a strategy consulting boutique. There he advised industrial and technology companies.

As an investor, active board member and hands-on portfolio manager, Tom has a demonstrated track record guiding strategic direction and creating value.

Tom holds a B.A. degree from Dartmouth College.

Mark DeBacker, CEO and Founder

Mark oversees Blue Bridge’s bank network, financial and compliance activities. He has served as CEO since the company’s inception in 2009.

Prior to Blue Bridge Financial, Mark held executive management positions with two regional financial institutions where he was responsible for all functional areas of bank operations with a focus on financial management and regulatory oversight.

Mark started his career at Deloitte & Touche, LLP, specializing in financial institution consulting and assurance services. He has maintained his CPA license in New York State for over 20 years.

Mark holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Rob Snow, Chief Credit Officer

Rob oversees Blue Bridge’s Credit, Capital Markets and Servicing functions. Prior to joining Blue Bridge in 2014, Rob co-founded Carillon Capital, a boutique investment advisory firm and merchant bank. Using his extensive knowledge of capital markets, portfolio management and lending, Rob helped financial institutions and specialty finance companies with the purchase and sale of loan portfolios, valuation of businesses and assets, and the development of innovative financial product marketing strategies.

Over the past 20 years, Rob has purchased and sold over $10 billion in whole loans and led the issuance of more than $4 billion in asset-backed securities. He has held executive level positions with BankBoston, Sovereign Bank and E*TRADE Financial, where he was responsible for loan origination activities, portfolio management and securitization.

Rob holds a Master of Business Administration from Babson College and a B.A. in Psychology from Middlebury College.

Dennis Hesch, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at The Carle Foundation

Dennis is a Certified Public Accountant with nearly 25 years of diverse experience in the healthcare industry, with expertise in treasury, financing, risk management, strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions and systems deployment. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for The Carle Health System (“Carle”), a $2.6 billion Integrated Delivery System located in central Illinois. Dennis joined Carle in September of 2006. Prior to that, he worked in Deloitte’s healthcare sector for approximately seven years, in addition to serving as the Chief Financial Officer for a large multi-specialty medical group. Dennis is active in his community and serves on various local and national Boards and is currently Treasurer for the local Boys and Girls Club.
